Advanced Setup

This section will guide you through the advanced settings available on your High Speed Internet DSL Modem. Most of these settings are technical in nature and will require a technical person to setup.

Please select the item that you want to adjust the settings for.

Blocking/Filtering

Services Blocking (Allows you to block specific Internet services from a specific computer on the network.)

Website Blocking (Allows you to block certain websites from the entire network.)

DSL

DSL Settings (Allows you to change the VPI, VCI, Mode and QoS settings.)

IP Addressing

DHCP Settings (Allows you to turn Off or modify the DHCP server.)

LAN IP Address (Allows you to change the IP Address of the High Speed Internet DSL Modem.)

WAN IP Address (Allows you to configure your High Speed Internet DSL Modem to work with your ISP.)

QoS

IP QoS Settings (Allows you to prioritize certain types of traffic (i.e. voice data) over normal data traffic.)

Remote Management

Remote Management/Telnet (Allows you to access your home network from another location.)

Telnet Timeout Setting (Allows you to set the amount of idle time before a telnet session is automatically terminated.)

Routing

Dynamic Routing (To be used only when a gateway is set up behind a Modem.)

Static Routing (Used when adding additional routers and subnets to your network – ADVANCED USERS ONLY)

Security

Admin User Name and Password (Allows you to change the Admin User Name and Password)

Advanced Port Forwarding (Allows by port number the ability to bypass the Gateway's built-in firewall, allowing access to parts of the network.)

Applications (Allows by application the ability to bypass the Gateway's built-in firewall, allowing access to parts of the network.

DMZ Hosting (Used to support online gaming and Internet conferencing services.)
